Nøne Futbol Club, Work n°009, Lift a finger, 2013

Such as their name, the approach of the duo Nøne Futbol Club is shown in the form of a pun with the real that associates their creations as much with mass retail products, pop culture references as art and design universe.

The game-playing component is omnipresent in their work and they transform the exhibition space into a board game, a real size Cluedo in which the visitors have to discover who is the thief. The exhibited artworks are detailing a scenario mingled with numbered clues.

“Simple and effective, the work of these artists-thieves is constantly moving between provocation and humour, with a violence that keeps its distance when manifesting. For the last clue, Work n°061: Pou Pull, the Nøne Futbol Club fuel their inspiration in art history. They hijacked an original lithography of the famous Pablo Picasso dove of peace on which the word “Pull!” is tagged, like a direct address to the visitor.
Nøne Futbol Club are representatives of the new wave, freed from the innocence and working with talent and malice on a vocabulary, inherited from the radical and updated tradition that echoes the marks and avatars of society."

“The name of this artist collective and its use as a logo, echoes the transversal aspect of their practice and the plurality of their field of action. “Nøne Futbol Club” associates three terms with Scandinavian (the letter “ø”), Spanish (Fútbol) and English (club) origins. The letter “ø” which is pronounced like a long French “e”, and which modifies the English word “none”, is also the mathematical symbol for an empty set.”
