Forever Young
Anne+ art projects
Anne+ - Ivry sur Seine — October 16-December 13, 2008
This exhibition wants to reflect on the popular idea that the youth is the only aesthetic argument carrying a news.
As a counterpoint to this fashionable attitude, the FOREVER YOUNG exhibition wants to state a bias, a possible and desirable commitment towards the current creation: the march forward of the creation is not a question of age but that of a work in progress, with a resolute orientation towards uncertain directions.
FOREVER YOUNG proposes to offer a reading to new and recent works, achievements of emerging personalities. It unambiguously assumes the role of support when these approaches are most needed.
During this event, the idea of commitment to artists and a certain type of work will also be discussed, and at the same time, a unique experimental space will be highlighted on the edge of Paris.
The solicited artists are part of a generation that is gradually making its way through renewed commitment and production.
Conceptually, the proposed exhibition is a paraphrase of the Nietzschean concept of the Eternal Return, the cycle in which what is coming back is not the whole but a real selection posing as political thought.
The doctrine of the German philosopher tries, and we are tempted to refer to it, to escape precisely the general feeling that what has been experienced and experienced once would be devoid of any major significance by repeating itself: in the process of renewal it there is the inexorable push of a new life and new forms that make it not the same that recurs but an unparalleled that manifests itself each time while giving the feeling of having already been there in a lifetime earlier.
